EDEN, BEYOND THE GARDEN
EDEN Beyond the garden [23.09.23 | 21.10.23]
Stefano Zaratin solo exhibition
OPENING 23 september h. 18
We are happy to award Stefano Zaratin as the winner of the second edition of our contemporary art prize “ArtRise” 2021, hosting his solo exhibition that will open on September 23 and mark the beginning of the second and final part of the year, which we will close in celebration on December 2 with the opening of the collective exhibition of the third edition of the prize.
Stafano Zaratin lives and works in Mestre. He has an initial training in science and later graduated in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
The project he presents in the gallery is his calling card, the essence of a constant artistic research aimed at investigating the difficult and often conflicting relationship between man and nature.
The hallmarks of Zaratin’s works and his stylistic signature are recognizable by two main factors the first is the ‘extreme attention to the choice of materials and especially to their intrinsic plasticity, to their natural state that enhances the tactile sense; the second is the minimalist color choice that enhances the forms with respect to light avoiding that the gaze is dispersed but focuses on the essence of the communication of denunciation.
“Eden, Beyond the Garden” is made to arouse, to provoke an ‘uncomfortable visual and emotional experience, an oxymoron between the purity of the environment and the contamination of human passage. As is often the case, the fruit of human manipulation and control over the ‘harmony of the original creation, is a’ hybridization that arouses revulsion and at the same time attracts, like the sense of vertigo as we stand poised on the precipice.
An exhibition that wishes to be a magnifying glass on that subtle inner conflict, cleverly submerged by our egos but no less harmful than the open ones between nations, peoples, races, religions and cultures.
On Saturday, Oct. 7 during the Day of the Contemporary organized by A.M.A.C.I (ASSOCIATION OF ITALIAN CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUMS) in its nineteenth edition, the exhibition will be open continuously from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and for the occasion will host a performance by Ensamble S139
The theme of this edition is precisely that of ecology, connected to that of sustainability, which aligns perfectly with the proposal of OAH through the solo exhibition of Stefano Zaratin.
