CASAMATITA THE SPACE OF INTIMICY
Open Art House_Homegallery presents Antonella Vitali’s solo exhibition
CASAMATITA, the space of intimacy [on display from September 27 to October 11]
Opening Saturday, September 27 at 11:30 a.m.
on the occasion of the “WELCHOMETOMYHOUSE” festival, an exhibition of 20th-century architecture and design that includes visits to houses, spaces, and buildings that have marked the history of architectural rationalism in Ivrea and Italy, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
CASAMATITA is currently the central theme of Antonella Vitali’s artistic production. A project that aims to express our connection with the interior and exterior.
Through drawing, acrylic paint and materials the artist proposes a rigorous, but only apparently rigid, composition of a stylized house. A reference to the purity of children’s drawings to a primordial gesture that takes us back to a safe place, to our roots and simplicity, where the stability of the house dialogues with the outside world through a central, colorful element that transcends boundaries, emphasizing the dynamic relationship between inside and outside and suggesting the emotional journey, the nuances of the soul and the complexity of the human being.
This work speaks of the traces we leave and receive in our interaction with the outside world, because none of us is isolated, but intertwined with our surroundings.
White, black, yellow, and red, with their boundaries expanding beyond the house, attract attention and give movement to life, where nothing is ever static. They are an invitation to look beyond walls and appearances to discover the complexity that makes us human. Casamatita is part of a series of works sharing the same title, which the artist does not yet consider complete, as the theme continues to inspire and stimulate her.

Antonella Vitali
Antonella Vitali was born in Milan, where she lives and works. Her painting is the result of a constant dialogue between form and color.Alternating between rigor and freedom, the artist finds her expression: composing, dividing, uniting, and separating to create a space all her own, with the meticulous help of color, which becomes a powerful emotional amplifier. She explores emotions, atmospheres, and moods, always seeking their essence, and her works, from an intimate and personal experience, take on a universal scope. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions and has held solo exhibitions in Milan and Venice, cities that have profoundly influenced her artistic career. It is precisely this deep connection that has prompted her to broaden her experience by attending the Bottega del Tintoretto for several years, where she continues her personal research by exploring techniques other than painting, such as lithography and etching.
During Antonella Vitali’s solo exhibition entitled “CASAMATITA, lo spazio dell’intimo” (CASAMATITA, the space of intimacy), the following events will be held in the gallery, organized in collaboration with the WELC-HOME TO MY HOUSE Association
